About Us and Our Great Danes- We are a family of seven, husband and wife, three kids, age 7, age 4 and age 8 months old. We have two wonderful Great Dane's, Emma who turns 10 years old on January 01, 2012 and our newest family member is Charlie, she is 5 and 1/2 months old her birthday is May 29, 2011.  Many of the choices we have made in life directly related to the fact that we have large canine family members, for instance the  vehicle we drive, the home we live in, the hotels we stay in and the furniture we purchase.

The story of Emma- Emma has been part of my life since before my husband and I were married. She has so many wonderful and unique qualities. When we brought Charlie home we laid their two Great Dane size beds together and asked them to lay down. Emma looked up at me like "you must be joking" and took her huge paw and very long right front leg and swiped her bed across the room as far from Charlie's as possible and went over laid down. She loves bread, we cannot leave the bread on the kitchen counter for a second. If the loaf of bread is within her reach and I turn around it is gone. She ate an entire birthday cake one year. She loves pig ears they are her special treat. She always receives a bag of pig ears from Santa. Emma is family and very loved.    

Charlie- It full of spunk and personality. She loves Emma and they now sleep together during warm days behind the pine trees in the back yard. She loves to play with sticks and balls and rope. She has learned to "sit", but "stay" has been a challenge. She is happy and healthy and has made me smile on many occasions.  She loves to take walks and we are so glad to have her as a new family member.
